Our products
Without a doubt we are best known for being the pioneers in production of high-quality, highly-insulated fish containers. The container production is by far our biggest operation and the only products we export in any quantity. But we also make other products in our factory in Iceland. We make road blocks from plastic, hot tubs and a range of sewerage products. Those include septic tanks, oil-, fat- and sand seperators and various wells. All of these products are buried in the ground and serve a purpose to protect the environment from pollution. For example, oil seperators make sure to seperate oil from waste water to ensure that oil does not make it’s way through the sewer system and into the environment. Water polluted with oil flows into the seperator and is collected in big tanks where the oil sits on top with clean water below. The clean water then makes it’s way out of the tanks and the oil remains in the tank. Once the oil in the tank has reached maximum level it get’s emptied and disposed of through proper procedure.
Recycled plastic
At Borgarplast we have a machine that takes all cut off plastic from the factory, grinds it and pulverizes so it can be used again. Due to very strict regulation we are not allowed to use any recycled plastic in the manufacturing of our insulated fish containers but we use the recycled plastic in the production of our sewerage products. This way we do our best in disposing as little plastic as we can and use recycled materials to produce products meant to protect the environment.
